10 March 2025 – International Day of Women Judges

On 8 March we celebrate International Women’s Day and on 10 March 2025, we join the global community in celebrating International Day of Women Judges. Both are significant occasions that recognise advances towards gender equality as well as the challenges that exist in many parts of the world. 

While the path to achieving full gender equality in the judiciary has been historically uneven, steps are being taken to remedy this, as demonstrated by the United Nations General Assembly’s declaration of this day. By marking this day, we reaffirm our commitment to creating and implementing strategies that advance women’s participation in justice systems at all levels and we celebrate the growing number of women who have entered the judiciary and other leadership roles.
